Part 1: Personal data and privacy

1. Introduction

1.1 We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our web site visitors; this policy sets out how we will treat your personal data.

4. Disclosing personal data

4.1 We may disclose your personal data to any of our employees insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy.

4.2 We may disclose your personal data:

4.2.a to the extent that we are required to do so by law;

4.2.b in connection with any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings;

4.2.c to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk);

4.2.d to the purchaser (or prospective purchaser) of any business or asset that we are (or are contemplating) selling;

4.3 Except as provided in this policy, we will not provide your personal data to third parties.

5. Retaining personal data

5.1 This section sets out our data retention policies and procedure, which are designed to help ensure that we comply with our legal obligations in relation to the retention and deletion of personal data.

5.2 Personal data that we process for users having an account with us, are stored on our servers in a secured database for as long as those users have an active subscription with us. If your account with us is deleted, for any reason, all existing personal data will be kept for a period of up to 3 months. After that period, all personal data in relation to your deleted account will be permanently removed from our servers.

5.3 Personal data that we process for users contacting us directly or through one of our contact forms are not stored in a database on our servers, but we keep a copy of each email-based communication on our secured email servers. Those copies are kept for a period of up to 12 months. After that period, and if no new communication has been received from the user to us, all personal data in relation to those communications will be permanently removed from our email servers.

5.4 Personal data that we process for users registering to our newsletter are not stored in a database on our servers, but we keep a copy of each registration on our secured email servers. Those copies are kept until they are transferred to our newsletter contractor MailChimp, but in all cases those copies are automatically deleted after a period of 12 months.

5.5 Notwithstanding the other provisions of this Section 5, we will retain documents (including electronic documents) containing personal data:

5.5.a to the extent that we are required to do so by law;

5.5.b if we believe that the documents may be relevant to any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings; and

5.5.c to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk).

6. International data transfers

6.1 Personal data that we collect are stored and processed in France, a member of the European Union.

6.2. For visitors registering to our newsletter those personal data are likely to be shared with our newsletter contractor MailChimp. MailChimp is reporting to be compliant with the GDPR and more information on MailChimp privacy policy can be found on MailChimp web site here.

6.3. We do not execute international transfer of personal data outside of what is described in this section.

7. Security of your personal data

7.1 We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data.

7.2 We will store all the personal data you provide on our secure (password- and firewall-protected) servers.

7.3 You acknowledge that the transmission of information over the Internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the Internet.

7.4 You are responsible for keeping the password you use for accessing our web site confidential; we will not ask you for your password (except when you sign in to our web site).

8. Server logs

When a visitor accesses our web site we typically do not keep a record of personal data of this visitor on our servers. Specifically, we do not store visitor physical location or IP address. However, for the purpose of identifying errors, server maintenance, preventing fraud or misusage of our services we may keep a record of errors and warnings that may have happened on our servers following a visitor access on our web site. Those errors and warnings records may include IP addresses, but those IP addresses are never tied to identifiable data like a name or email address. We never use those records for statistical usage and they are systematically deleted from our servers after a 5 weeks period.

9.1 We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on our web site.

9.2 You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes to this policy.

Part 3: Cookies
